Whip It!

Today I saw Whip It!
directed by Drew Barrymore.
Starring Ellen Page, Drew Barrymore, and Kristin Wigg (?? from SNL)

Basically Bliss (yes that is her real name) (also played by Ellen Page) was always expected to be the Southern Belle her mother once was. When she found the sport of roller derby, that took priority in her life, and everything in her life took a backseat, including her best friend.

Through her roller derbies, she met Oliver. They went out but his band had a mini- tour for 1 month. Bliss AKA Babe Ruthless on the track, and Oliver swapped pieces of clothing, he gave her his jacket (which was later burned) and she gave him her (mother's) band t-shirt.

The movie was great. It could have been better though. I feel as though the movie was left with a lot of loose ends, though there probably won't be a sequel. For Drew Barrymore's first directing experience the movie was fantastic. But I do wish there was more, I don't know what, but more.

I would rate this movie 4/5 stars.
